Learning to play the Flute ( Pullankuzhal)

Last saturday, I bought a bamboo carnatic flute which has 8 holes (+1 to blow) at a Handicraft emporium here at Bangalore for Rs.75. I have just been hunting all round for good carnatic flute tutorial / tutorials. There arent any/many that tell you how to map swaras to the flute. There are however a lot of tutorials that I found on the Western Flute... The only thing that was close to being helpful was http://carnaticwinds.tripod.com . A nice soul has tried taking pictures of how to hold. Its a good effort, though I would wish that there are ones that show the mapping in a way that can be printed out and tried at one's will...

Any good pointers appreciated.

Last, but not the least, I now know to play the Flute a little, learning of my own to play Cileon Dion (sorry if this spelling was wrong) Titanic Song, Malgudi days starting music and a few others.....

Back to Blogging

Its been a long time since I blog.. There are several things that have happened since I last blogged. I joined a s/w company. My wrk atmosphere is great, great team.. I have already started real work..

I have been commuting to Chennai and back to Bangalore every weekends, enjoying my time back home... Hope this continues (which seems less probable as work gets better)..
